Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) in his ailment in which he died, used to say, “O `Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison.” Sahih al-Bukhari 4428
But Quran in Surah al-haqqah says:
69:44 Had the Messenger made up something in Our Name, 45 We would have certainly seized him by his right hand, 46 then severed his aorta,
Does this indicate something questionable?
We have described the risks of some hadith here, and advised on how to navigate them. Never use hadith to question Quran. That is the first rule.
This hadith is automatically questionable. While it says “as if,” still there is enough reason to believe the hadith is not authentic. We should immediately leave it alone as the prophet reportedly warned.
